At God's Gifted Soaps & Remedies, one of the things we want to help encourage is removing the plastics from your kitchen. Plastic cutting boards can leave microscopic pieces of plastic in your food. Switching to wood cutting boards is a great healthy alternative. We made a wood salve to treat and protect your wood utensils. No nasty mineral oil was used. I used food-grade beeswax and Organic MCT oil which is very anti-bacterial, fungal etc. It also doesn't go rancid as quickly as other oils. The beeswax helps protect the wood from water.
Scented with lemongrass and sweet orange essential oils- this smells so fresh!
Wood Salve
size: 2 oz tin
ingredients: Food-grade beeswax. Organic MCT oil, Lemongrass & Sweet orange essential oils
benefits: Protects your wood kitchen utensils. Would also make a great skin protectant as well- it's ALL Natural.
How to Use: On cleaned and well dried wood untensils- Scrape a pea sized amount and use a papertowel to spread a thin even coat into the wood. After you have worked it in, Let it sit on the counter for an hour or so, and later check and wipe any excess away. This should be done every few months, or if your board is looking dry. If you have to do a deep clean on your board, that is a good time to re-apply.
